The Oregon women won the seventh annual Bill Dellinger Invitational as transfer Alexi Pappas took first while the Oregon men were second to BYU as the Ducks Trevor Dunbar won at Springfield Country Club on Saturday morning.

Not only did Eugene solidify its reputation as Track Town USA, athletes with ties to Oregon made a splash at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials.

Some recent national reports have said the Oregon athletes here have a definite home field advantage. Whether it's Hayward Field, Eugene's running paths or the ties to Steve Prefontaine, Eugene is a track haven.

Bryan Clay, Trey Hardee and Tom Pappas have qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in the decathlon. Ashton Eaton, the NCAA decathlon champion from the University of Oregon, placed fifth. Pappas attended Lane Community College.
