There are many railroad bridges that cross the Siuslaw river . The fall colors are bright and colorful this year.

Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes crossing the Siuslaw River Bridge on U.S. Highway 101 as daytime work on the bridge begins. Flaggers will be on scene from Nov. 2, 2009, through Feb. 12, 2010.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Old chunks of a historic bridge got a new lease on life at BRING Recycling Tuesday. The huge sections of concrete bridge rail are from the Patterson Bridge in Gold Beach, Ore., on the south Coast. They were salvaged from the bridge during a restoration project. The recycling group took on the project to demonstrate the importance of re-using materials for new purposes. Inspectors recently checked the 110-mile line from Eugene to Coquille and found conditions have not deteriorated significantly over the past few months. Officials hope the line will be running again by the middle of next year.

Rush-hour traffic came to a halt on U.S. Highway 101 near Florence Friday night because of a problem with the Siuslaw River Bridge.  Operators could not lower the bridge because of an electrical fire in the control room.

This is just one of the many covered bridges that can be found in Oregon..this one is located west of Eugene .It sits beside the Siuslaw river and spans wild cat creek
