There are many railroad bridges that cross the Siuslaw river . The fall colors are bright and colorful this year.

Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes crossing the Siuslaw River Bridge on U.S. Highway 101 as daytime work on the bridge begins. Flaggers will be on scene from Nov. 2, 2009, through Feb. 12, 2010.

Wondering what is going on under the bridge. here is a couple photos i took while we are renovating the brige to give her another 80 years.

Inspectors recently checked the 110-mile line from Eugene to Coquille and found conditions have not deteriorated significantly over the past few months. Officials hope the line will be running again by the middle of next year.

Rush-hour traffic came to a halt on U.S. Highway 101 near Florence Friday night because of a problem with the Siuslaw River Bridge.  Operators could not lower the bridge because of an electrical fire in the control room.
