The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded running back LeGarrette Blount to the New England Patriots in exchange for a seventh-round pick in this year's NFL draft and Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps.
All that good will Justin Wilcox built up at Oregon, from his days as a ballboy on the sidelines to being a four-year letterman for the Ducks as a defensive back, it's gone.
SEATTLE (AP) — All that good will Justin Wilcox built up at Oregon, from his days as a ballboy on the sidelines to being a four-year letterman for the Ducks as a defensive back, it's gone.
A University of Oregon spokesman made it official with a tweet saying that start running back LaMichael James will skip his senior season to play in the NFL.
LaMichael James certainly isn't shy about making bold predictions for No. 3 Oregon this season. "We can get better," he said. "The sky's the limit for us."
LaMichael James, a Heisman finalist and the nation's top running back with an average of just under 153 yards rushing a game, has clearly embraced coach Chip Kelly's philosophy that no game is bigger than the next.
LeGarrette Blount had his fourth 100-yard game rushing, finishing with a career-high 164 yards as Tampa Bay took down the Seahawks 38-15. But, Seattle can still win the NFC West.
In just his second season leading Oregon, Kelly is taking the second-ranked Ducks to the national championship game on Jan. 10 against No. 1 Auburn — and for that he was voted AP Coach of the Year on Tuesday.
