Native Oregonian Michele Jones has been selected as the new District Ranger for the Central Coast Ranger District and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area according to Siuslaw National Forest Supervisor, Jerry Ingersoll.

The body of Nathan Cain of Walla Walla, Wash.has been found by searchers. Nathan who had been skiing with his father and some adult friends became separated from the group Saturday in Union County.

Eleven tags for the Rocky Mountain goat are available for Oregon's 2009 hunting season. Eighteen of those goats now can be found near Baker City, where they were released by Fish and Wildlife officials in July.

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife wolf coordinator Russ Morgan heard at least two adults and two pups answer his howls under a bright moon in the pre-dawn hours Friday on the Umatilla National Forest in northern Union County.
