Masoli's stats don't put him atop the league's statistical categories. He's passed for 905 yards and five touchdowns, with just two interceptions. Known more for his scrambling ability, he's rushed for 272 yards and seven TDS. But coach Chip Kelly said that intangibles make Masoli a success.

They've taken very different paths, and yet they've wound up in the same place: 2-1. Oregon and Oregon State both open Pac-10 play this weekend, each with a blemish on their overall records, but two weeks ago it would have been hard to imagine these teams having so much in common.
