Pfc. Erin McLyman, who was killed during a mortar attack on her base in Iraq, was honored in a military service on Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Wednesday.

"She lived every moment like she didn't have a second to spare," wrote the family of Pfc. Erin Leigh McLyman, a 2001 graduate of Sheldon High School in Eugene.

A funeral procession carried the body of Private First Class Erin McLyman, a Sheldon High School graduate killed in a mortar attack in Iraq, to a memorial service at the Eugene Faith Center.
