Fire destroyed a home on Powell Hills Loop in Brownsville, Ore., early Wednesday morning. Twenty firefighters responded. Dennis Weis from the Tangent Fire Department shared these photographs of the 3 a.m. blaze.

Oregon State Police say a Vancouver, Wash., man driving a big rig tractor cab on Interstate 5 lost control, went airborne and ended up on the bank of the Calapooia River.

Twenty-five years ago, Rob Reiner and his crew came to Brownsville to make the movie Stand By Me.  On Saturday, July 24, Brownsville will be celebrating the movie’s anniversary with an event that’s fun for all ages
