A crash north of Airport Road on Meadow View just off Highway 99 closed the southbound lane for 30 minutes Thursday night. One car was in a ditch and another on a tow truck when a reporter arrived. An officer at the scene said no one was injured.

Police captured a wanted man after a downtown resident became suspicious of a man moaning for help, claiming to have been assaulted by his girlfriend. On Thursday, Eugene police asked for the...more public's help locating Jacob Steven Lucas, a wanted man suspected of committing robberies by entering homes under the pretense of needing help. Shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, a resident of the 16th and Olive area called police to report a man moaning outside who claimed to have been assaulted by his girlfriend. The man wanted to get in the house to use the phone, the caller said. Concerned this might be the individual reported on the news, the resident called the police. Several officers moved to the area and began an investigation and search.  An Eugene police dog handler spotted someone fitting the description on Olive between 15th and 16th.  The subject turned off the street between the houses. Press release Due to a sustained decrease in H1N1 flu activity in our community over the last three weeks, PeaceHealth Oregon Region is lifting the temporary visitor restrictions put in place on Oct....more 29 that prevented children 12 and under from visiting patients at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and University District, as well as Cottage Grove Community Hospital. Effective Nov. 20, the restrictions are lifted in all areas of the hospitals except for the following units at RiverBend: Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). To ensure the safety of patient populations most at risk of complications from H1N1, visitors to these units are restricted to two adult support people. No other visitors will be allowed to enter. The patient's two support people must be healthy and not showing any symptoms of flu, which include a fever greater than 100 degrees plus one of the following: headache, body aches, cough, sore throat or nasal congestion. The
